Build the Future of Simulation, Infrastructure, and Applied Learning
Q2 Systems is building the Kwathu Smart Innovation Farms [KSIF] platform — a simulation-driven environment exploring how digital intelligence, infrastructure systems, and real-world decision-making can work together to shape the future of agriculture and resilient systems.
We are currently assembling an early-stage development team to work alongside our existing collaborators across Africa and the United States.
KSIF sits at the intersection of:
- simulation systems,
- meaningful play,
- digital twins,
- cyber-physical infrastructure,
- systems education,
- agriculture,
- and real-world operational intelligence.
The project is backed by the Rockefeller Foundation, Xbox Game Camp 2026, and the Detroit City Tech Residency.
We are looking for curious builders, thinkers, designers, and systems-oriented students who want to help shape something ambitious from the ground up.
What We Are Building
KSIF is a simulation-driven platform that allows users to:
- model agricultural systems,
- test decisions before implementation,
- understand tradeoffs,
- and explore how interconnected systems behave over time.
Long term, the broader vision extends beyond agriculture into infrastructure, logistics, mobility, resilience, and cyber-physical systems.
The environment is not simply entertainment — it is a learning, modeling, and experimentation platform.
The platform is presently being developed primarily in Unreal Engine, though contributors with strong Unity or related simulation/game development experience are also encouraged to apply.
Areas We Are Exploring
We are currently looking for contributors interested in one or more of the following areas:
Gameplay & Simulation Programming
Individuals interested in:
- Unreal Engine 5
- Unity
- C++
- Blueprint systems
- gameplay systems
- simulation logic
- AI systems
- optimization
- systems architecture

What This Looks Like
This is an early-stage exploratory build initiative designed for individuals who want:
- meaningful portfolio experience,
- real-world systems exposure,
- collaborative experimentation,
- startup and research-adjacent experience,
- and the opportunity to help shape a platform from its earliest stages.
At the moment, positions are voluntary as the platform is pre-revenue. However, contributors will work closely with a growing interdisciplinary network connected to engineering, simulation, infrastructure, agriculture, and emerging technologies.
Contributors may also have opportunities to:
- contribute to prototype systems,
- participate in research-oriented exploration,
- shape gameplay direction,
- and help define the future architecture of the platform.
Ideal Contributors
You do not need to be an expert.
We care deeply about:
- curiosity,
- initiative,
- systems thinking,
- creativity,
- problem solving,
- and willingness to learn.
Individuals from backgrounds such as:
- Computer Science
- Game Development
- Engineering
- Experience Architecture
- Human-Computer Interaction
- Data Science
- Agriculture & Natural Resources
- Information Science
- Media & Creative Technologies
are especially encouraged to reach out.
