TechCrunch Disrupt 2025

The Epicenter for StartUp Tech and VCs Leaders

In October 2025, Q2 Corporation made its international debut at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco — one of the world’s most influential gatherings for founders, investors, and innovators shaping the future of technology.

Representing Q2 were CEO Nthanda Manduwi and CTO Alvaro Anaenugwu, carrying the vision of a new kind of African tech company: one that builds, not imitates; one that learns and earns its place at the table of global innovation.

Our team had conversations that mattered — connecting with fellow innovators, ecosystem leaders, and potential partners. Each exchange was a chance to share the story of Kwathu Smart Innovation Farms (KSIF) — our flagship project under the A Q2 Sim™ brand. By the end of the week, a growing number of people had joined the KSIF waitlist, eager to experience what we’re building next.

A Week Immersed in the Future

TechCrunch Disrupt was a masterclass in imagination. From panels on AI and climate tech to the corridors buzzing with founders pitching moonshots, the energy was contagious. Yet, one experience stood out to our founder — the first ride in a Waymo autonomous vehicle.

It was more than a novelty. Listening to the Waymo CEO speak and then experiencing the technology firsthand triggered something in us: a realization that the same sustainable, autonomous systems redefining transportation in the U.S. can — and should — be built in Africa. It expanded our founder’s vision for what’s next.

Q2’s commitment to sustainability doesn’t stop at agriculture. We are now exploring how sustainably powered autonomous systems could transform mobility, logistics, and farm operations in emerging markets. Innovation, after all, is not about where technology begins — but where it can go next.

Play | [L]Earn | Build: The Q2 Philosophy

Our flagship initiative, Kwathu Smart Innovation Farms (KSIF), embodies Q2’s core philosophy: Play | [L]Earn | Build.

It’s more than a tagline — it’s a worldview.

  • Play is where exploration begins, through interactive simulation and experimentation.
  • [L]Earn is our deliberate wordplay — because learning should lead directly to earning. It’s about empowerment through knowledge.
  • Build represents the act of creation — turning insight into sustainable enterprises and livelihoods.

At Disrupt, this model resonated deeply with attendees curious about how global innovation is merging play, education, and entrepreneurship to create real-world impact.

Expanding the Ecosystem

Our journey to San Francisco was also about relationships — finding the thinkers and doers who believe in reimagining systems from the ground up. We connected with individuals and organizations whose perspectives are already shaping how we grow.

As part of this evolution, Q2 Corporation is expanding its board, bringing together new voices in sustainability, technology, and creative leadership. We’ll be sharing these announcements soon — but the direction is clear: this is a company built to scale impact, not just size.

From Mangochi to San Francisco

For us, TechCrunch Disrupt wasn’t just an event — it was a milestone. It proved that African founders aren’t on the sidelines of the innovation economy; we’re co-architects of its future.

What started as an idea in Mangochi, Malawi, now stands among the world’s most forward-thinking innovators. And this is only the beginning.
